Project 2: : Wellness Center PLUS

Brief: Before starting project 2 (final project), we were required to do a physical site visit to analyze the site location as a group. Site analysis and design response establish an understanding of the context for the final project. In a group within different tutorial classes, we will be working within the Kepong Botanical Gardens which borders the neighborhood of Taman Ehsan, Kepong which is also the location of Klinik Kesihatan Taman Ehsan. Then, in a group within the same tutorial class, we will derive a theme based on the analysis as the design response which would frame our presentation. Each group is to identify the PLUS component – the key program – around which our wellness center design will be based. Meanwhile, the final project calls for the design of a Wellness Center PLUS within the Kepong Botanical Gardens, bordering the suburban neighborhood of Taman Ehsan. We are required to provide full design proposals incorporating findings from precedent studies and site analysis individually.

Outcome:
Site Analysis & Design Response - Maximum of 4 A0 boards landscape ; PDF submission of the presentation material

Project 2 - Main orthographic drawings including site plan, plans, sections, elevation,  “integrated sectional perspective” which combines construction detailing with spatial atmosphere, contextual/environmental response, and communal use ; 3-Dimensional representations such as 4 key perspectives – interior & exterior and an exploded axonometric drawing  ; progress materials ; final model.

SELF REFLECTION

All of us struggled in dealing with other modules assessments due dates due to delayed site visiting for studio iv and also classes started to resume physically which caused some modules to require site visiting too. Most of us thought that it was quite a rushed presentation boards outcomes as we were dealing with other modules' postponed submissions. We enjoyed the site visit experience as we got to interview the local community around the site location area and last but not least, we enjoyed the cuisines around the neighborhood.
