Project 1b & 1c: Architecture for Place-making
Brief: The building's design comprises suitable and problem-solving architectural answers to components of the urban street setting and user behavioral patterns identified and studied in the Preliminary Studies. We are required to independently understand the concept of the supplied program (for example, Community Library, Music School, Learning Center, Community Center, and so on) and develop an architectural plan for it. The supplied program is related to the year's subjects, such as arts, trade, and health. This will be in response to the difficulties and inspirations they discovered in Project 1.
Outcome:
Interim 1b:
A. 2 to 3 x A1 panels
• Needs analysis diagrams for the program and spatial qualities
• Design narrative diagrams with theoretical exploration
• Site plan 1:200 (for accessibility, OKU drop off, solid/void relationship to the context)
• Orthographic drawings 1:100/ 1:200 to include site boundaries (color-coded)
• Design narrative diagrams, sketches, and additional images i.e. 3D renders, diagrams of schematic design, and design development strategies and responses
• 3D Massing strategies (physical models and digital modeling) with silhouette and system
• Ideas on construction design (1:200) (conceptual) with silhouette and system
• An essay of 1000 words on a selected theme of urban theories
• Public Space | Smart place design concept
B. 4 to 6 x A1 panels in standardized layouts
• Design narrative diagrams (color coded) and needs analysis diagrams
• Site plan 1:500 (for accessibility)
• Orthographic drawings 1:100/ 1:200 (resolved for structures and facades)
• Façade design and construction
• Fire run/compliance 1:100 plan
• Structural concept and Wall section in 1:20 details on façade/architectural features
• Diagrams, sketches, and additional images
• Evidence of design development – study models (physical and digital), sketches, and images to be compiled for information
Final Project 1c:
Part 1: Final boards and model total number of boards: 8 x A1 boards/4 x A0 boards, 6 x A1/3 x A0 for design intention, narratives, explorations, space, form, function, and circulation + 2 x A1/1 x A0 for technical and UBBL compliance.

I HAVE LEARNT SOME NEW BITS OF KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO CONSTRUCT BUILDINGS IN URBAN BLOCKS WHILE RESPECTING THE SITE INCLUDING THE PEOPLE, CULTURES, AND URBAN SPACES. ALSO, GETTING TO KNOW BETTER ABOUT MY WEAKNESSES THROUGHOUT THE PROGRESSION WHILE DOING THIS PROJECT.
